Stonebridge Golf Club

Address:
68 Hawktree Ridge
Ottawa, ON, Canada

Established:
2001
Website:
Description:
Nestled within a lush rolling landscape of verdant parkland and the picturesque Jock River, Stonebridge Golf Club is one of the finest 18-hole public courses in the National Capital Region. Professionally designed by noted architect Ted Baker, a Canadian designer best known for Lionhead Golf Club in Toronto, Stonebridge Golf Club was constructed to USGA specifications in 1999/2000 and officially opened its doors for business on May 1, 2001. Stonebridge Golf Club was closed for a major redesign for the 2021/2022 seasons. Doug Carrick, one of Canada's leading golf course architects, whose noted works include Eagle's Nest, Bigwin Island, and Angus Glen among many others, designed the amazing golf course layout we enjoy today, challenging golfers of all skill levels.

Spaciously laid out over 180 acres and nestled within the Stonebridge community, the golf course offers a wonderful blend of parkland and linksland golf. Stonebridge Golf Club features bent grass tees, greens and fairways, undulating putting surfaces, more than 60 premium Temisca sand bunkers, and natural fescue areas. Special care was taken to preserve the natural features of this spectacular site. Stonebridge Golf Club is recognized as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS). Stonebridge Golf Club is the 29th golf course in Ontario, 56th in Canada and the 571st in the world to receive this honour.

The clubhouse boasts a magnificent, 2-sided, stone fire place in the front lobby, a majestic 2,000 square foot banquet hall, fully equipped pro shop, bistro, bar, men's and ladies locker rooms and a spectacular patio overlooking the 18th hole. A water feature located directly behind the clubhouse provides a sense of tranquility as water cascades from two fountains and a waterfall. To top it off, the beautiful gardens and golf course view make Stonebridge Golf Club the perfect setting for weddings and banquets.

Pro Tip

One of the biggest mistakes amateur golfers make is tinkering with their swing too much during their round. When you mess with your swing mechanics too much in the middle of a round of golf things tend to get worse. Remember, your objective on the course is to play golf not play "golf swing". tinkering with your swing should be done on the range, not the course. Hit some balls before you play and make adjustments there. Then, start your round and use the swing you found on the range. Keep it consistent.
